The Path Unknown

Oft times upon this journey through this thing that we call ‘life’,

We set our sails In a clear direction, whether it be left or right.

We may be searching for our dream or to find a new avenue,

“I'm on my way”, those words we say, and whistle a happy tune.

Then the unexpected happens, and NOW what do we do?

Do we sit down, pull up a frown, and bid our lives adieu?

I've done this once or twice before, and this is what I've found,

There's lessons in the journey, whether traversing up or down.

This life can be so challenging with its constant changing pace

It may take you just a minute to wipe those tears off of your face.

Do your best to shake it off, even if your mind has been blown,

And now, my dear, just grab your fear, and walk the path unknown.

It isn't very easy to get derailed from your grand plan,

But this is life - some joy, some strife - since the dawn of the known man.

We’ll never see the rainbow, if we can not stand the rain,

We’ll never experience pleasure, if we haven't danced with pain.

So take a breath, yes bring it in, and hold it for a minute.

Then exhale out, give out a shout - the truth is you're still in it!

This journey we call life can be so rough and rocky, it's true!

Yes, we can also see the beauty of Heaven right here on this Earth, too!

So if you have just recently stumbled, and taken a difficult fall.

Remember, you're still in it! You only lose by not playing at all.

The game of life can be easy, and other times can make us moan,

But as long as we are living, we may end up walking the path unknown.
