With May being designated as Older Americans Month back in 1963, the 15th of May (smack dab in the middle) was chosen to be celebrated in 2024 as SAVvy Day (Solo Agers Visibility Day) for the first time ever!
Back in 1963, approximately 17 million people had celebrated their 65th birthday. Today, there are more than 60 million! As times and the family structure have changed, there are many seniors who have lost a partner, have no children, and no immediate family to help them navigate their journey. SAVvy Day is created to celebrate, educate, and connect solo agers wth resources and raise awareness.
